About NYAKAHUMA CYRUS PETER
I deserve this award because I am actively leading on two fronts that define the East African youth agenda. As the President-elect of the UCU EAC Students Association operating under the East African Community Youth Ambassadors Platform (EAC YAP) I am driving youth participation in regional integration at the university level, bringing the EAC's vision from policy documents into real student conversations at Uganda Christian University.
Beyond my regional role, I founded SkillBridge Uganda, a platform addressing the skills employment gap that continues to lock thousands of Ugandan youth out of economic opportunity. I have pitched this initiative at the National ICT Innovation Hub, demonstrating that my leadership extends beyond titles into tangible, solution driven action.
What sets me apart is that I do not lead in one area and observe in another. I am simultaneously building regional consciousness among students and creating economic pathways for youth two priorities that sit at the heart of what East African leadership must look like today. I am a student, yet I carry the responsibilities of a builder, an advocate, and a regional citizen. I believe this award should go to someone who is not preparing to lead but is already doing it.
