Michael Wangai, known in his community as "Tetú"— the one who builds — is a young agribusiness founder transforming how smallholder farming is structured in Kenya.

Raised by his grandmother in Kieni West, Nyeri County, Tetú learned early that the land rewards those who respect it. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Chuka University, he chose to build rather than seek employment. In 2025 he founded Chania AgrihubLimited, a data-driven agribusiness that designs, plans and manages integrated farming systems.

At the heart of his work is the FUSE Model (Farming Unified Synergy Ecosystem) — a proprietary zero-waste farming framework currently being piloted at the company’s demo farm in Nyeri. The model integrates aquaculture, beekeeping, livestock, and horticulture into one high-efficiency system designed to deliver measurable returns for farmers and landowners.

Under his leadership, Chania Agrihub has:
- Built institutional-grade governance from inception
- Secured over 50 paying customers
- Created direct employment for youth in Nyeri and Chuka
- Begun active engagement with national programmes including the World Bank-backed NAVCDP, as well as NDMA, KALRO, and AHITI

Tetu’s vision is clear: to scale the FUSE Model across Kenya, turning smallholder farms into climate-resilient, profitable agribusinesses that feed communities and create dignified work for thousands of young people.

He represents a new generation of African youth who are not waiting to be employed — they are engineering the systems that will employ others.
