Imani Christian School

Imani Christian School in Embu, Kenya, is a community-built institution formed and sustained by businesses and well-wishers in Kenya and abroad. Since its inception in the early 2000s, its comprehensive program has benefited over 2,000 vulnerable students- orphans and children from extremely poor families- providing education, sponsorships, meals, and mentorship.
The school exemplifies diaspora investment at its best: not one-off remittances, but sustained capital, skills, and goodwill converted into a lasting enterprise, with the local community providing leadership and the diaspora (including partners like Rancho Christian Church and Schools in the US) providing funding and support.
