Damaris Wanjiku Njeri

Damaris Wanjiku Njeri, popularly known as *“Admin Shiko,”* demonstrates how digital transformation can be used to address one of Northern Kenya’s greatest challenges; peace and security. Through a WhatsApp-based platform, she has brought together security agencies, national and county government officials, local administrators, civil society and other stakeholders across Northern Kenya and Tana River, creating a continuous space for sharing information, discussing emerging security concerns and coordinating peace and development efforts.

Her innovation goes beyond online communication. She regularly organizes physical forums where members meet to discuss security, peace and development, creating a digital-to-physical model of collaboration. She has also introduced awards during these forums to recognize individuals and institutions contributing to peace and community development.
